The Lunch Ladies have announced that they’ve brokered a “win-win” deal with Taiwanese artist Poortoast for the release of their Official Lunch Ladies Coloring Book - (press "play" above to see the video).
Filled with 40 sick and twisted original illustrations based on the short, heavy-duty 170 gsm paper (no BLEED-through) and a spiral-bound design so it lays flat for ease of coloring and tearing, the book “collaboration” was not all fun and games according to Poortoast:
“It all started when I became addicted to those b*tches’ pot pies—they’re positively delectable paired with stinky tofu, boba milk tea, and rice wine spritzer. Requiring my daily fix, but short on cash, I had no choice but to barter my “Out of the Fire and Into the Fryin’ Pan” artwork for a daily pot pie FedEx to Taiwan—I like it fresh.”
For two years, everything went smooth.
Then came the tariffs.
Seretta explained: “We felt bad giving Poortoast an ultimatum—Make us a coloring book or NO MORE POT PIES—but unfortunately the outrageous cost we were saddled with by the Cheeto Brigade made it impossible to stick by our original terms.”
LouAnne, fleshed out the compelling story: “Even Poortoast realized that a few measly drawings for the goods was no longer a fair trade. He was forced to surrender and get down to drawing. It’s simple economics, take it up with The Donald.”
