Sources have confirmed that Lunch Ladies have struck again, this time by forcing the hand of Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Fest into an early official selection. Speculations have been flying all morning on how they pulled it off but our reporters got the inside scoop.
Apparently, the women who have now nicknamed themselves "Yankee Doodle Lunch Ladies," googled "Rhode Island" and discovered George M. Cohan - composer of "Yankee Doodle Boy" - was born there. They immediately swung into action to use it to their advantage.
Said Seretta, lounging in a sparkly red white and blue track suit she plans to wear for the screening: "Flickers' Rhode Island is way too prestigious for Lunch Ladies so we had no choice but to take action. As Patriots it was our right. Tell 'em, Lou."
LouAnne, lighting off firecrackers in the bathroom, face covered in soot, grinned: "It was awesome. We simply got busy penning a "special" poem for them based on Cohan's famous song. They were so touched. Soon as they read it they told us we were in! Thanks Rhode Island!"
