Breaking news! The Lunch Ladies have made it to Portugal for the MotelX Horror Festival and have done it by hijacking a Portuguese musical genre known as FADO. Traditional FADO songs talk of longing and the inability to escape one's fate.
This is where it gets dicey.
Apparently, the Lunch Ladies who have no shame and don't mind bastardizing a beautiful tradition, forced programmers at Motel/X into a selection by crooning horrible FADO day and night outside their homes with the following repetitive lyrics:
"You long for us, you can't escape us, resign your fate."
Said Seretta, gargling salt to cure her thrashed pipes: "By morning, those Motel/X folks were so brainwashed and longed for us so much, they had to program us."
LouAnne, sucking on a lemon to cure her thrashed pipes, croaked: "Kudos to Motel/X for facing their longing for the Lunch Ladies. Thanks Motel/X for the selection!"
The 12th Annual MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival promotes the best of horror from around the globe. MOTELX is the only Portuguese festival to have received an accreditation by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), and is also a member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF) and Europe For Festivals, Festivals For Europe (EFFE).
Motel/X runs from September 4-9. Details on when the Lunch Ladies screen to follow!
